This underscores the remarkable evolution of digital technology in India. What once served as a limited medium for engagement and entertainment has now transformed into a platform for boundless enablement and empowerment.
The arrival of 5G technology has also sparked an insatiable demand for a new generation of digital and technical skills. By 2025, India is projected to need approximately 22 million skilled workers with expertise in 5G-related domains.
Additionally, breakthroughs in renewable and emerging energy technologies present a promising opportunity to secure a sustainable future for generations if new solutions are devised for reliable, clean, and affordable energy sources for India and the world. Moreover, biotechnology-based therapeutic products and services across various medical domains are being developed to address unmet medical needs.
In this context, the Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships aim to cultivate world-class talent that will propel India’s new era of growth. Reliance Foundation will identify and support 100 of India’s brightest postgraduate students pursuing forward-looking courses in Engineering and Life Sciences. These students will receive a generous scholarship award and benefit from a comprehensive development program, nurturing future leaders who can think big, think green, and think digital for the greater good of society.
Eligibility is open to first-year postgraduate students from institutes across India enrolled in degree programs in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Sciences, Mathematics and Computing, Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Renewable and New Energy, Material Science & Engineering, and Life Sciences.
The Reliance Foundation Scholarships will support and nurture these outstanding students through a holistic development program that includes expert interactions, industry exposure, and volunteering opportunities, fostering a cohort of excellence each year.

To initiate the application process, students must first complete the eligibility questionnaire available on our website.
Application Form Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships
Students are required to complete and submit their applications through our Application Portal. The application process includes providing personal, academic, and extracurricular details, submitting two letters of reference (one attesting to academic capabilities and another to character and leadership traits), and providing relevant academic or professional information. Additionally, applicants must submit two essays: a Personal Statement and a Statement of Purpose, along with supporting documents.
Aptitude Test
All applicants are required to complete an aptitude test online. The test will last for 60 minutes and will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions assessing verbal ability, analytical and logical reasoning, and numerical skills.
Evaluation Process
First-Level Selection
Applications will undergo evaluation by an expert panel composed of industry professionals, academicians, and leaders in the relevant fields.
Second-Level Selection: Interviews
Interview preparation webinars will be provided to all candidates. The interviews, conducted virtually by the expert panel, represent the final stage of the selection process.

The Reliance Foundation invites first-year postgraduate students who are enrolled full-time in eligible degree programs (as listed above) to apply.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a resident Indian citizen.
- Postgraduate Scholarship applicants must be first-year students who have scored between 550 and 1,000 in the GATE Examination, or students who have not attempted GATE but have achieved a CGPA of 7.5 or higher in their undergraduate studies (or equivalent percentage normalized to CGPA).
Exclusions:
- Students in their second year of the postgraduate program.
- Students pursuing their degrees through online, remote, distance, hybrid, part-time, or any other non-regular modes.
- Students with a GATE score below 550, even if they have a CGPA of 7.5 or higher.
- Students solely pursuing Mathematics are ineligible under the Mathematics & Computing category.
- Students who fail to complete the mandatory aptitude test or are caught cheating during the test.

Scholarship Features
The Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships aim to nurture India’s future leaders who can think big, green, and digital for the benefit of society. Through a rigorous and competitive selection process, the Reliance Foundation will identify and select the brightest students in India. The scholarship program welcomes applicants from all socio-economic backgrounds, with scholarships awarded based on merit.
Up to 100 postgraduate scholars will be selected each year. The total scholarship amount available throughout the degree program is up to INR 6 lakhs. Eighty percent of the funds will be disbursed at the start of each academic year to cover tuition and direct academic expenses. The remaining 20% will be provided upon request to support professional development, including indirect academic and personal development expenses, such as conference-related costs.
Scholars will also benefit from additional engagement and development activities, including opportunities to attend talks and workshops with leading global experts, apply for mentoring or internships, participate in volunteering opportunities, and join a vibrant alumni network. This community of scholars will be at the forefront of creating and building a new India.
