Introduction

Ujjwala 2.0, an ambitious
Indian government initiative Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Free Gas Connection 2023, aims to provide LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) connections to
economically disadvantaged households, continuing the success of the original
Ujjwala Yojana. This program places an emphasis on lowering indoor air
pollution, enhancing health, and using clean cooking energy. Empowering them
through financial inclusion and environmental sustainability primarily benefits
women. By providing other advantages like financing facilities for buying gas
stoves and refill alternatives, Ujjwala 2.0 broadens its appeal. The
effectiveness of the plan depends on its wide reach, public awareness efforts,
and its execution. Ujjwala 2.0 empowers marginalized families, fostering
overall development, by introducing cleaner and safer cooking practices.

Who is eligible for Ujjwala gas connection?

• In the same residence, there shouldn’t be any
  other LPG connections from any OMC.

• Adult women who fall
  under one of the following categories: SECC Households (AHL TIN), SC, ST,
  Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), Most Backward Classes (MBC), Antyodaya
  Anna Yojana (AAY), Tea and Ex-Tea Garden Tribes, Forest Dwellers, People
  Residing in Islands and River Islands, or any Poor Household as per the
  14-point declaration.

Documents are necessary For the Ujjwala Yojana Free Gas Connection

• “Know Your Customer”(KYC).

• If the applicant lives at the address listed on their Aadhaar
  card, they must present it as proof of identity and address (Aadhaar cards are
  optional in Assam and Meghalaya).

• Ration Card issued by the State from which the application is
  being submitted; another State Government document attesting to the make-up of
  the family; or a Self-Declaration in accordance with Annexure I (for migrant
  applicants)

• Adult family members and the beneficiary’s Aadhaar appear in
  the paperwork at level 3.

• A Bank Account Number and Supplemental KYC to support the
  family’s status are required.
