Deevena” scheme, also known as the “Andhra Pradesh Overseas Study
Scholarship,” is a remarkable initiative for aspiring scholars with a
global vision. Named after the honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri
Jaganmohan Reddy(YSJ), this program is a testament to the state’s commitment to

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship is a game-changer for eligible students, offering a substantial
financial boost to their educational journey. Depending on the ranking of the
institution, the selected candidates can receive financial assistance as
follows:

Top 100 Institutions/Universities: Students admitted to these
prestigious institutions can receive 100% coverage of their tuition fees.

101 to 200 Ranked Institutions/Universities: For students gaining
admission to institutions within this bracket, financial assistance of 50% of
the tuition fee or ₹5,00,000, whichever is lower, is provided.

Payment in Four Installments

The scholarship disbursement is structured to provide consistent support
throughout the academic year for postgraduate students. The payments are
divided into four equal installments, as outlined below:

1st Installment: This installment is disbursed upon the presentation
of the landing permit or 1-94 card (Immigration Card).

2nd Installment: Students receive this installment after the
successful completion of the first semester or term.

3rd Installment: The third installment is released upon the
satisfactory completion of the second semester or term.

4th Installment: The final installment is granted upon the
successful conclusion of the fourth and final semester, along with the
submission of the respective mark sheet through the online portal.

For Ph.D. and MBBS courses, additional installments are disbursed based on the
submission of preceding year/semester results.

Additional Benefits

The scholarship program extends beyond tuition fee coverage, offering students
further benefits to support their international education journey, such as:

Provision of one-way Economy Class Tickets (lowest fare) for the shortest
route, upon presentation of a valid visa and admission details.

Reimbursement of the total visa fees upon submission of the visa fee payment
receipt.

It’s important to note that candidates can utilize the sanction proceedings,
specifying the eligible course fees, to obtain their visa from the respective
Embassy.

Ensuring Eligibility and Qualification

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must meet the following
criteria:

Andhra Pradesh Native: Applicants should be native to Andhra
Pradesh.

Top 200 Universities: Candidates must secure admission to one of
the top 200 foreign universities ranked by the QS World University Rankings,
based on the latest available ranking list.

Age Limit: The maximum age of applicants should not exceed 35 years
as of the date of notification publication.

Income Threshold: The applicant’s family income should not exceed
₹8,00,000 per annum. In the case of a married student, the spouse’s income
certificate will be considered. For students with employed family members, a
salary certificate from the employer is mandatory.

One Candidate per Family: Only one candidate is eligible, ensuring
fairness and equal opportunities.

Single Lifetime Opportunity: The financial assistance provided by
this scheme can only be availed once in a lifetime.

Qualification-Related Criteria

Specific qualification-related criteria must also be met, depending on the
level of study:

Post Graduate Courses: Applicants must have scored 60% marks or
equivalent grade in their foundation degree in disciplines such as Engineering,
Management, Pure Sciences, Agriculture Sciences, Medicine and Nursing, Social
Sciences, or Humanities.

Ph.D. Course: A 60% mark or equivalent grade in the postgraduate
course is required for Ph.D. applicants in the fields of Engineering,
Management, Pure Sciences, Agriculture Sciences, Medicine, Social Sciences, or
Humanities.

MBBS Courses: To pursue MBBS courses, applicants must have scored
60% marks in Intermediate or equivalent courses.

Mandatory Requirements

Several mandatory requirements ensure that recipients of this scholarship
maintain the integrity of the program:

Self-Initiated Admission: Candidates are responsible for seeking
admission to an accredited university or institution abroad.

Timely Enrollment: Scholarship recipients must enroll in the chosen
university or institution within six months of their selection notification.
Failure to do so will result in the automatic cancellation of the sanction.

Consistent Course: The course of study or research for which the
scholarship is granted should not be changed.

Who’s Not Eligible?

Applicants who have previously received financial assistance under similar
schemes from either the State or the Government of India are not eligible for
this scholarship.
